en masse: forty years of flux

Salon style exhibition runs for 40 days: July 6 – August 14, 2017

Gala: July 6, 7-10pm

“en masse” gestures toward the ways that artists have worked together to create alternative spaces for exhibiting contemporary art, in and through White Water Gallery.  This sensibility of togetherness has enabled WWG to survive and thrive in the face of many challenges and changes over the last forty years.

Both the organization itself – in terms of staff and board composition, location, and programming priorities – and the context in which we work – including social movements, funding structures, and artistic forms – have been in a constant state of flux.  But here we are, en masse, reflecting on our work, and the latent possibilities of relations between us and our works.

The main gallery will showcase work by mid-career and established artists who have been active WWG board or staff members over the decades, and the front gallery will feature a juried exhibition of work by emerging artists in our community.

Exhibiting artists include:

Bryan Maycock • Dennis Geden • Jane Perry • Mike Couchie • Lise Melhorn-Boe • Keith campbell • Arlie Hoffman • Heather Saunders • Jürgen Mohr • Marjorie Moonfire •  Christine Charette • Allan Hirsh • Dermot Wilson • Dave Carlin • Clayton Windatt • Liz Lott • and many more
