This painting is part of a larger series of paintings depicting images of North. While making this work I spent hours traveling on highway 17. I was drawn into the line between the two opposing directions of traffic, and the transport trucks moving goods; resources from the Land and I thought about paralleling images of collision, exploitation and animal movements within and on the Land.
Wood salvaged from an early settlers’ homestead was used to build the frame for the painting.
