In Memoriam – Ruth J. Jamieson
It is with great sadness that we at the White Water Gallery and the WKP Kennedy Gallery mark the passing of artist, friend, and volunteer Ruth J. Jamieson. Ruth was a tireless supporter of the arts in our community, a dedicated student who devoted herself to artistic expression in a variety of media, and an enthusiastic, positive presence who selflessly donated her time and energy to helping our organizations flourish.
Over the past 6 months alone, Ruth volunteered two days a week at the WKP Kennedy Gallery Gift Shop, was invited to join the Kennedy Gallery’s advisory committee, saw her artwork sell in the Whodunnit? Art Sale and Fundraiser, the Gallery Gift Shop and the Capitol Centre’s Wine Gala art auction, and exhibited her work at White Water Gallery’s Black Water Art exhibition. This is only a small indication of what Ruth had recently accomplished, and how much joy she expressed with each success.
Ruth: Your enthusiasm was infectious, your dedication was unwavering, your open-mindedness was inspiring. You were the kind of supporter every arts organization hopes for, but is rarely lucky enough to have. Though your time with us was short, your presence was felt. You will be missed.
