This work is from my ‘chair series’ that I started in 2009 after my husband died in 2008. It was my way to grieve and honour his memory as these chairs all had a personal connection to him…I like to depict the reality of this world and the other world…..and what we think is real is not always real, but co-exist as a parallel . The Kitchen Chair is a morning and afternoon chair where our fast was broken, tea was taken weather worried about and birds observed…..a place of peacemaking…..and conversations. They still happen.
