I am of Celtic Ancestry.  My people came over from Scotland in the early 1800s. I have been fascinated with the Celtic mythology and it has been the basis of many of my paintings. Damh is the Gaelic for Stag….it also means a champion…he and the Raven are said to be two of the oldest five animals from the beginning of the world. This is one of the many images of how I imagine these people to appear. I grew up in Hudson, Que. and attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Montreal and the Jamaica School of Arts & Crafts in Kingston, Jamaica. I studied sculpture with Jacques Chapdelaine, print making with Sara Gersowiez, and drawing with Jan Funnecatter…. I work in small and large formats, 4”x4” to scrolls 100ft. long by 2ft wide. I am 75 and I have been making art since I was a child…. My work has been exhibited in different places and is in various collections in Canada, USA, West Indies, France & England, and I also sometimes write. Mostly I paint.
