The Art of Community

A presentation, workshop, and volunteer work-learn opportunity in art that engages with and creates community led by Ruth Howard, Artistic Director of Toronto’s Jumblies Theatre, and colleagues, as part of Jumblies’ Residency project at the White Water Gallery.

Public Presentation: Sept. 11th, 7:00pm to 9:00pm
A glimpse into the work of Jumblies Theatre and the pleasures, paradoxes, and power of community-engaged arts.
Cost: Free – Everyone Welcome

Workshop: Sept. 12th, 11:00am to 5:00pm
A hands-on introduction to Community Arts with creative activities, critical discussions, and take-home resources.
Cost: $45 – Includes tea/coffee and morning refreshments. Pizza will be provided for lunch (please note any dietary restrictions upon registration). Advance registration required – space is limited.

The Four Lands of Nipissing: Sept. 13th to 21st
Take part in a local community arts project. The Four Lands of Nipissing is an evolving, participatory, performative gallery installation that explores our Goodlands, Badlands, Lostlands, and Dreamlands through ongoing drop-in activities at the White Water Gallery, Aanmitaagzi’s Big Medicine Studio and other local venues. A final presentation and celebration will be held following the end of the project, with more details to be presented over the next few weeks.
